It is hard to believe that Emilee is 1! One year ago, we got the call from the adoption agency at 6:00 am to let us know the birthmother had gone into labor. All of our bags were already packed and we got Ella out of bed and loaded into the car with her jammies still on. We were in Wichita Falls by 1:30 and met JiJi in the hospital parking lot. She took Ella and Chase and I went into the hospital. I was in the room and witnessed Emilee's birth. I heard her first cry and saw her take her first breath. Today is more than a birthday.

(As long as you understand, though, that she won't really appreciate you until she's at least 30... I can say that as an adoptee at 12 days old. Hee hee.)
